Thank you to everyone who attended our Blues, Jazz and Swing fundraising event on Bank Holiday Monday.
The event which was organised by our Sophie Askew; our Fundraising Events Volunteer attracted around 200 people throughout the day who came to offer their support and enjoy a family friendly atmosphere at the Kings Arms pub on Coleshill Road. We were also pleased to welcome Councillor Anne Underwood and her family as special guests who came to offer their ongoing support for Our Place Community Hub.
The live music set the scene and gave the event a real buzz. Guests enjoyed a set from the Tommy walker Trio and a Jazz Trio made up of young people from Clifton Road Youth Centre.
Special thanks go to all the musicians who played free of charge for the event!
We also want to thank Rob, Paul and all the staff at the Kings Arms who allowed us to use their fantastic venue free of charge and are donating the proceeds of the BBQ to Our Place. The Kings Arms have been supporting Our Place Community Hub since last November and have played a key role in promoting what we offer to the local community and our ongoing fundraising.
A total of £210 was raised from donations and the raffle which will contribute towards the creation of a community garden at Our Place Community Hub which we aim to have open in September this year.
