We offer a range of courses in key areas aligned to our service delivery. This means that we are able to offer high quality training which we know can be translated into day to day practice.

Our trainers are all highly experienced in the field in which they deliver and are able to draw on their own practice to enhance the learning experience.

We offer regular training sessions (detailed below) which are bookable by email to training@ourplacecommunityhub.org We are also able to deliver any of our courses to groups/staff teams at a venue to suit you. For a full list of our courses click here.

Loss / Change – January 29th 9.30am-11am at Our Place Community Hub

Knowledge and insight shared about the impact of loss and change, in a whole variety of circumstances. There will be opportunities to discover how it can impact yourself and anyone you live/work with. You will receive tools to enable the use of safe strategies for tackling the problems and pain that loss or change can cause. You will discover meaning behind loss related emotions and their useful purposes despite the level of discomfort/pain.

In Depth Training- Child Sexual Exploitation for Professionals – 19th March 9.30pm-4.30pm at Our Place Community Hub

Full Day CSE

This full day course will give professionals working with children and young people an in-depth coverage to Child Sexual Exploitation. The course will enable individuals to understand the history and prevalence of CSE through discourse. They will be able to identify who is at risk of CSE and the push / pull factors that lead children and young people to victimisation. Participants will be informed of various models of CSE and awareness of the impact of consent and attitudes towards victims. Participants will be able to identify signs of CSE and know how to respond in both safeguarding and intervention.

Mindfulness – 30th April 1pm-3pm at Our Place Community Hub

This course offers an introduction to Mindfulness as a concept and how to be present in a

busy distracted world. Switching on, getting present and opening your awareness of the present moment.

Problem Solving Using Values – 18th June 1pm-3pm at Our Place Community Hub

This course is suitable for personal development and for professionals supporting others in their social and emotional well-being.

Individuals core values are what drives us and informs our decision making, so being aware of them and how to best utilise them will help you understand how to transform problems into purpose filled choices, putting some ‘why’,  into your ’try’, to release motivation and tackle difficult situations.

Managing Thoughts – 9th July 1pm-3pm at Our Place Community Hub

This course will encourage learners to begin exploring the nature and composition of our thoughts, we will see just how they serve or enslave us.

Learners will also be introduced to really practical and helpful strategies to deal with anger, after careful consideration of its source and power.

Learners will leave this course with the ability to identify and consider thoughts before acting upon them, giving them control of their own thoughts and a choice in how they react to them.

Anger or Calm? 17th September 1pm-3pm at Our Place Community Hub

Suitable for personal development and for those supporting others in social and emotional well being, this course will enable attendees to learn about

  • Triggers
  • Escape routes
  • Key skills for calm control.

Attendees will also learn how to use their new learning to then positively influence others too!
