It’s that time of year again when Sutton Coldfield rolls up its sleeves and shows the nation what community spirit really looks like!
The Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council is once again backing the Great British Spring Clean, the country’s biggest annual litter-busting campaign.
Running from 21 March to 6 April 2025, this year is extra special, marking the movement’s 10th anniversary with the inspiring theme #LoveWhereYouLive.
And honestly, what better way to show some love for our beautiful town than helping to keep our streets and green spaces clean?
Grab a Litter Bag and Get Involved!
Whether you’re part of a community group, school, faith organisation, or just a local resident who cares, everyone is invited to come and take part.
Litter-picking might be a simple act, but it makes a massive, visible difference – and it’s something the whole family can get involved in, too.
The Town Council is making it easy to join by offering free litter-picking equipment – including grabbers, gloves, high-vis tabards, and even bin bag hoops (if you’ve used one before, you know the joy!). A Word from the Mayor
Mayor Cllr John Perks had this to say:
“Great British Spring Clean is a great opportunity to get involved in your local area and help care for our community spaces. Even a small act can have a significant impact.”
He also gave a special shoutout to the incredible Sutton Coldfield Litter Action Group, recently nominated for the King’s Award for Voluntary Service 2025 – the highest honour for organisations within the UK voluntary sector!
